Imvelo Safaris Lodges began over twenty years ago with a ground-breaking idea – give local communities an ownership stake in the safari business and both the wildlife and the people will benefit and thrive. That inspiration led to the building of Gorges Lodge on community-land just outside Victoria Falls. In the years since, Imvelo has expanded that vision and now operates six lodges in Hwange National Park and the Victoria Falls area.

Imvelo believes sustainable communities go hand-in-hand with conservation. Gorges, Bomani Tented Lodge and Camelthorn Lodge are built bordering national parks, leaving a smaller environmental footprint in the park and providing a powerful economic benefit for local communities as well as an incentive to protect wildlife. Nehimba Lodge, Jozibanini Camp and Zambezi Sands River Camp are located in remote areas of Hwange and Zambezi National Park respectively, establishing a tourism presence to support nearby communities and reduce the threat of poaching.
