Tropic Ecuador is proud to announce that after their annual audit with Rainforest Alliance, they have once again been re-certified, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability and credentials as a sustainable tourism operator. To earn this certification, they must demonstrate that they are minimizing their environmental footprint and supporting workers, local cultures and surrounding communities.
The audits that Rainforest Alliance performs confirms that Tropic meets all of their tourism criteria, which are recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and include:
- Protection of nearby ecosystems,
- Wise use of natural resources,
- Climate change mitigation, and
- Benefits to the social and cultural development of surrounding communities
